Lance Armstrong’s Team—RadioShack—has been ordered to a disciplinary hearing for wearing inappropriate jerseys, cited cycling official last Monday.
The International Cycling Union said that Armstrong’s team might be charged with fines because of the delays caused during Sunday’s final stage of Tour de France.
Officials say that the team members had to remove the unapproved jerseys before the final stage began.
“Team RadioShack's incorrect behavior led to a 20-minute delay to the start of the final stage, which could have disrupted the televised coverage of the race, placing the (UCI) under the obligation to impose a fine on each rider and the team managers,” said the officials in a statement.
The team members wanted to ride into Paris wearing black jerseys to commemorate cancer victims, but officials said that they had not received approval.
