We’ve all heard on the news: Manny Pacquiao, better known as “Pacman,” is slated to take on boxing’s “golden boy” Oscar De la Hoya. Promoters are touting the bout as the “dream match”—which is fitting because it is only in rare cases that you see one boxer battle another, whom is two weight divisions ahead of him.
The two boxers accidentally met last December 3 on the sports oval of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) where they were both conducting their morning jogs. But upon seeing each other, there were no acknowledgments or gestures. Both athletes maintained their training routines religiously—unphased of the other.
According to the gambling circles, Pacquiao needs more training than De la Hoya. In fact the Filipino is tagged as the plus 155 underdog. This simply means that if you wager $100 on a Pacquiao victory you can win $155. On the other hand, De la Hoya is at minus 185, meaning you need to bet at least $185 to win $100.
