Last Friday, Manny Pacquiao returned home to the Philippines after defeating Miguel Cotto in 12th round technical knockout in Las Vegas.

Since his days in the Philippine amateur leagues, the “Pacman” has always had a strong following in his native country. And as he secured another record-breaking win; his name is becoming more and more famous across the globe.

A sea of fans welcomed Pacquiao in the airport.

After winning six world titles in six separate divisions, what’s next for the Pacman?

All signs point to a welterweight showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, says that their camp is ready to set up a fight against the former world champion.

However, Pacquiao down played the build-up. He said: “We are not forcing a fight with him. It is right that he is the one challenging me, because my fights score more on pay-per-view.”   

Pacquiao’s past three fights have been against top caliber boxers (i.e. Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Cotto).

On the other hand, Mayweather recently made went back into the ring from retirement and scored a comfortable win over Juan Manuel Marquez.

For the time being, Pacquiao said that he will take a vacation with his family. He also plans to pursue a career in Philippine politics during the upcoming years.
