Number two seeded Rafael Nadal won in straight sets over Thomaz Bellucci last Monday during the fourth round of the French Open.

The Spaniard won 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 despite having an equal number of unforced errors and winners (27-27).

The 24th-seeded Bellucci won only 36 percent of the points from Nadal’s serves, but these winners came at opportune times. Nadal built momentum with eight breaks, including one in the 11th game of the second set and another in the fifth game of the third set.

Nadal is now matched against Nicolas Almagro in the next round. The 19th-seeded Almagro eliminated Fernando Verdasco with 40 winners and 25 unforced errors.

Third-seeded Novak Djokovic also advanced as he eliminated Robby Ginepri.
