Novak Djokovic, the top-ranked tennis player in the world, won his third Grand Slam tournament for the year, besting Rafael Nadal in four sets.

The Serbian proved to be too much for the Spaniard. Djokovic dominated the finals with a hard-earned 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 victory.

Djokovic rallied from 0-2 deficits in the first two sets. The entire match was based on defense as both players endured through long rallies.

The win marked Djokovic’s sixth consecutive win over Nadal this year—the last time they met was at Wimbledon.

With his third title for the year, Djokovic joins an elite group of athletes who captured three major championships in one year.
