Rafael Nadal, the defending champion of the Australian Open, has now advanced to the third round of the tournament. He defeated Lukas Lacko last Wednesday in straight sets.

Nadal only needed less than two hours to finish the match. Lacko was out of his element, surrendering 58 unforced errors. Nadal won in dominant fashion, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.

With the win, the Spaniard will advance to face either Wayne Odesnik or Philipp Kohlschreiber.

In other matches, Andy Roddick edged out Thomaz Bellucci to advance to the third round. Roddick will face either Feliciano Lopez or Rainer Schuettler.
