Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray claimed semifinal berths in the US Open on Friday.

The fourth-seeded Murray downed John Isner, 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), while Nadal defeated Andy Roddick in straight sets.

Roddick and Nadal now join Roger Federer and top-seeded Novak Djokovic at the semifinal round of the tournament.

Murray broke Isner’s serve twice, gaining a set in each occasion. The Englishman lost the third set, but took a tie breaker and won the next six points. On the other hand, Nadal broke the first two serves of Roddick and took control of the match.

The US Open men’s semifinal is set for Monday.
