Second seed Andy Murray claimed his 10th career title after upsetting world number one Rafael Nadal 6-3 4-6 6-0 during their ABN AMRO finals match. The Spaniard was hampered with a knee injury and Great Britain’s number one Andy Murray took advantage.

The injury began to take its toll during the third set, as Nadal took the second set with his trademark forehands 4-6.

However, at the entry of the third set, Nadal’s knee injury began to act up. He was not as mobile as he could’ve been and Murray picked his shots. The 21-year old out maneuvered the Nadal in numerous occasions, showing a well-balanced offensive and defensive game. Murray took the last set 6-0.

With the win, Murray becomes the first Briton to win the ABN AMRO Rotterdam tournament, but he still wishes that Nadal was in top shape.

“It is a shame for him after he injured his knee at the start of the second set. The play was up to a good standard in the first set,” Murray commented in an interview. “I’m happy to win but I would have preferred it if he wasn't hurt. I have started well this year. I would have liked to have done better in the Australian Open but I got better here as the week went on and I’ll try and keep it going now.”

Murray is tagged as Britain’s number one. They are predicting that he will be the next Briton to win the Wimbledon trophy; the last Englishman who won the prized contest was Fred in 1936.
