Thierry Henry showed he is back in form by heading his team to a sensational 2-1 win over league leaders Manchester United in injury time.
The win completes Arsenal's double over their arch rivals for the first time in five years as some lingering hopes to a title win persists among the Emirates stadium faithful. United looked to have won the match with a Wayne Rooney header in the 53rd minute only for Van Persie and Henry to spoil what could have been a dream weekend for the club.
The first half saw no real chance for either team, who started the match with a cautious game. However United took the lead through a brilliant piece of play on the left hand side of the field. Ronaldo found Evra with a superb through ball and the French defender's cross was deflected into Rooney's path by Toure and Rooney gleefully obliged with his 8th goal of the season.
Arsene Wenger changed his team replacing the ineffective Hleb with Van Persie and the Dutch striker immediately put his team level with a well-taken goal from just 6 yards out. Just when it looked like the game would end in a draw, Eboue sent a delightful cross across the United goal and Henry made no mistake to put his team ahead with just 30 seconds of stoppage time remaining to be played.
Speaking to SkySports, Henry joked claiming that this goal was indeed special. "I scored with my head so it must have been pretty special! I wanted to make sure to at least make it difficult for Edwin van der Sar and I got the ball in the back of the net."
"It can't be better against Manchester United than to be 1-0 down and come back right at the end and win the game. A win against Manchester United is always special but especially so with the way we did it today. Doing the double over them is always a pleasure", he added.
