Sepp Blatter, incumbent and near-outgoing FIFA president announced plans to make his next possible term his last if ever he gains enough votes to win the election period in Zurich, Switzerland. He is now about to run for his fourth term in FIFA going up against Mohamed bin Hammam from Qatar.
Blatter shares at the UEFA Congress that "you know very well that I will aspire to another four years, those will be the last four years I aspire to." He has been at the helm of control over the sport's world governing organization beginning in 1998. He is now facing his first real challenge to the throne ever since Issa Hayatou almost stripped away his position back in 2002.
Meanwhile, incumbent Asian Football Confederation president Bin Hammam is also present in the UEFA Congress in order to seek for votes from the European federation presidents in time for the 1st of June. Blatter says that they "are in extra time" before the election, adding that people should just "wait and see what the outcome will be."
