Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew can heave a sigh of relief after the Football Association cleared him of any misconduct in his now-famous bust up with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
The incident in question occurred in November when Pardew was the West Ham manager. The Hammers clinched a last minute win following a late strike by Marlon Harewood. His goal sparked insane celebrations from Pardew.
This was apparently not liked by Wenger who shoved him and angry words were exchanged. The two coaches had to be forcefully separated by the officials. Subsequently Pardew was fired as the Hammers boss and is now the manager at Charlton.
Arsene Wenger admitted to improper conduct last month and was slapped with a fine of 10,000 pounds ($19,510). He was also warned by the FA and received severe censure.
However a disciplinary commission has now found that the charge against Pardew is unfounded, as it cannot be proved.
Wenger and Pardew shook hands when Charlton met Arsenal on January 2 at the Emirates Stadium. |
