Chelsea Stroll Through FA Cup Tie; Blank Forest 3-0 E-mail

Chelsea's and Andriy Shevchenko's resurgence in form continued with an emphatic 3-0 victory over league one side Nottingham Forest as the London club moved into the FA Cup fifth round with minimum ease.

The game was over before half time with Chelsea scoring three goals and without any resistance shown by Forest, the result was so clear for everyone that Mourinho brought his "kids" to have a taste of competitive games. Fresh from scoring his double in the league cup semifinal, Shevchenko put the Blues into the lead with a close-range volley which deflected off John Curtis into the net.

Drogba scored his 22nd goal of the season with a delightful curling free kick from 25 yards out. Chelsea strolled through the game with the Forest attack being totally ineffective. Just before the whistle, John Obi Mikel hammered the final nail in the coffin for Forest tapping in from a Lampard corner to give Chelsea a 3-0 lead before half time.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood tried to change the things at half time, brining in Sammy Clingan for Grant Holt and Forest for the first time in game enjoyed some possession. Agogo got the best chance for Forest but only to shoot across the face of the Chelsea goal.

Chelsea however regained the control of the game and Mourinho decided to give a run-out for couple of his youth players introducing Morais and 16-year-old Michael Woods for the final 10 minutes.

"We killed off the game in the first half and by the second half the game was over. I brought on the kids towards the end because of our good position", Mourinho said after the game.

Calderwood was not happy of his team's performance, saying that the players played as if in a dream. "It was a dream tie and we played in a dream, we were ineffective. We didn't show any of our ability in the first half. If you get through the opening period that's OK, but to come here and play below par wasn't good", he added.
