Beckham To Be Dumped Out Of Real E-mail

Former England captain David Beckham will not be offered a new contract to extend his stay at Real Madrid, according to the club's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic.

Speaking to Sky Italia television, Mijatovic said, "Beckham will leave us, we will not renew his contract with the club". This statement completes the U-turn made by Real Madrid who just a few days ago said that they have offered a final contract to Beckham and if he wants to continue his career at Madrid should sign it within a week.

However a host of newspapers reported throughout the week that the Madrid coach, Fabio Capello, was desperate to see the back of Beckham along with Ronaldo and Cassano, had advised the club not to renew Beckham's contract.

Capello has already said that some of the players who have featured in the club's lat two defeats will be omitted from the line-up during the match for Copa del Rey game with Real Betis. "Tomorrow we are going to see some small changes, we are going to put out some different players. In the last two games, we have lost the character and desire which we had up until that point. That is what has annoyed me most. When I arrived I said we had to fight for the shirt, recover our values and I have not seen this", he added.

However Beckham's spokesman Simon Oliveira has said that the contract offer is still on the table and he was surprised to see the reports. "Nobody has said anything to us. As far as we're concerned, the offer is still there and a meeting is due this week", he said.
