Italian Serie A side Livorno have confirmed that there is interest from English Premiership sides for the club’s highly rated keeper Marco Amelia.

Livorno’s president, Aldo Spinelli has stated that the Premiership leading the chase for his number one is Liverpool with Chelsea and Arsenal also awaiting any further developments.

According to Spinelli, his £7M rated goalkeeper Amelia has stated a desire to move to the capital with a preference for Arsenal or Chelsea.

 "The player has also received an interesting offer from a Premiership club to join them in June, but I will not confirm if it's Liverpool. It may be an even more important outfit," he hinted.

"I've heard the valuation of £7 million, but that is the wrong price," he said.

"We are talking about a real champion without a shadow of a doubt. He is one of the best in the world and £7 million would not be enough to sign him.

"We already have an agreement in place with Amelia for him to sign a new five-year contract."
