Antti Niemi blocked 34 shots, while his teammate Jason Demers scored the only game’s goal, to lead the San Jose Sharks over Chicago Blackhawks, 1-0.

It was Niemi’s first shutout of the season, and the 14th of his career.

Demers scored during the power play with a little under three minutes left in the second period. It came from an assist by Ryane Clowe.

With the win, the Sharks have now taken four consecutive games.

Corey Crawford surrendered one goal on 21 shots, taking Chicago’s third straight loss.
