NHL inducts new Hall of Fame players E-mail

The Hockey Hall of Fame inducted Ed Belfour, Doug Gilmour, Mark Howe, and Joe Nieuwendyk last Monday in Toronto.

During his illustrious career, Nieuwendyk scored 564 goals and 562 assists through 1,257 games. In the playoffs, he collected 66 goals and 50 assists.

Nieuwendyk spent most of his career in Calgary and Dallas. He is currently the general manager of the Stars.

Belfour, on the other hand, is one of the top goalies of all time. He spent most of his career in Chicago, where he was known as “The Eagle.”

Gilmour was also one of the inductees. He won a Stanley Cup with the Flames in 1989 along with Nieuwendyk. In his career, Gilmour scored 450 goals and passed 964 assists through 1,474 games.

Howe, son of Gordie Howe, played in 22 seasons. He played for the Aeros in the1970s with his father and brother. Howe earned the rookie of the year award in 1974.
