The New Jersey Devils announced that its goaltender, Martin Brodeur, will miss a week due to an injured right shoulder.

Brodeur was injured in the first quarter of their game against Los Angeles on Thursday. The game, which was decided by a shootout, was won by New Jersey.

In place of Brodeur, Johan Hedberg will start for the Devils.

Brodeur, who is in his 19th season, holds the NHL’s all-time records for victories and shutouts, and he has been named among the league’s top goaltenders four times.
