Goalie refuses to visit White House E-mail

Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins’ goalie, skipped the team’s courtesy visit to the White House due to his political beliefs.

Thomas, who is one of the top goalies in the NFL, was not present when President Barack Obama congratulated the Bruins for winning the 2010-2011 Stanley Cup.

In a statement, Thomas says that he felt that the current government has “grown out of control.”

The political conservative did not single out Obama in any of his statements. He even said: “… in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country.”

Peter Chiarelli, the manager of the Bruins, told reporters that he tried to encourage Thomas to go, but he was still given the option decline—which Thomas chose to do so.
