Brian Elliott stopped 21-of-22 shots to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

Elliott played a shutout during the final two periods, leading the Blues to a 3-0-1 record under Coach Ken Hitchcock.

In the first, Matt D’Agostino scored a power play goal, while Alexander Steen put one in during the second.

Jimmy Howard’s 35-shot-stop performance was not enough to beat St. Louis. He took the loss, which snapped the Red Wings’ four-game winning streak.

Detroit’s only goal came in the first period from Justin Abdelkader. All of their power play attempts were foiled by the Blues.
