Backstrom records shutout, Minnesota wins over Calgary E-mail

Niklas Backstrom had 29 saves, recording his second shutout for the season last Wednesday. He led the Minnesota Wild to a 4-0 win over the Calgary Flames.

Backstrom is now in his fourth season in the NHL. He has recorded 18 shutouts, and eight of those came last season.

Kyle Brodziak put the Wild in front during the first period. Andrew Brunette and Mikko Koivu scored goals in second quarter, which put Minnesota in full control of the game.
