Adrian Aucoin topped four consecutive shootout goals last Wednesday to seal a 4-3 win by the Phoenix Coyotes against the Vancouver Canucks.
The overtime ended the longest road trip of any team in NHL history as the Canucks played their 14 straight away game.
Andrew Raycroft, the goaltender of Vancouver, had a chance to win the game, but could not stop Radim Vrbata from making Phoenix’s third shootout goal. Afterwards, shootout goals were also scored by Lee Stempniak, Shane Doan and Aucoin.
Vancouver answered two goals (from Stempniak and Doan), but Mason Raymond was stopped by Ilya Bryzgalov after the goal of Aucoin.
