LaDainian Tomlinson or “LDT” is staying with the San Diego Chargers.
Tomlinson signed a renegotiated contract with the Chargers that will give the team a salary-cap relief. San Diego confirmed the agreement last Tuesday. However, the financial terms of the deal were left undisclosed.
The signed agreement ends a two-month back-and-fourth between Tomlinson and the Chargers.
Another player that signed on with his current team is Alex Smith, who will stay with the San Francisco 49ers. Smith has agreed to a restructured contract that will reduce his salary base. While the financial terms of the deal were undisclosed, San Francisco confirmed that the quarterback will be staying with the team for the next two years.
In other news, Orlando Pace—a seven-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle—was released by the St. Louis Rams. As of late, the 33-year old has been hampered by numerous injuries. The release vacated $6 million worth of cap space for the Rams, who had a disappointing 2008 season.
