Representatives of the Green Bay Packers said that there were 1,600 orders placed during the opening 11 minutes of the franchise’s fifth stock sale.
Mark Murphy, the president and chief executive of the team, said that the first order came from someone in Texas. It was followed by 1,599 transactions within a few minutes.
Murphy apologized to the buyers, who were having problems accessing the page, through Twitter.
This was Green Bay’s first stock offering since 1997, when the team sold 250,000 shares for the team.
