Aucoin seals victory for Coyotes E-mail
Written by Sports Know It Alls Staff

Adrian Aucoin topped four consecutive shootout goals last Wednesday to seal a 4-3 win by the Phoenix Coyotes against the Vancouver Canucks.

The overtime ended the longest road trip of any team in NHL history as the Canucks played their 14 straight away game.

Andrew Raycroft, the goaltender of Vancouver, had a chance to win the game, but could not stop Radim Vrbata from making Phoenix’s third shootout goal. Afterwards, shootout goals were also scored by Lee Stempniak, Shane Doan and Aucoin.

Vancouver answered two goals (from Stempniak and Doan), but Mason Raymond was stopped by Ilya Bryzgalov after the goal of Aucoin.

Antonio Bryant, a free agent, has agreed to a $28-million four-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals last Wednesday.

The deal for the eight-year pro can rise up to $29 million if you include the incentives.

Reports claim that the deal will be officially announced once Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis returns from the NFL Competition Committee meetings.

The 29-year-old was ranked among the top three free agents in the NFL. Last year, he was limited to 13 games, because he suffered an injury during the Buccaneers’ training camp. He had 39 receptions for 600 yards.
