Derrick Rose scored 32 points on Thursday to lead the Chicago Bulls over the New York Knicks, 105-102.
The reigning MVP scored 15 points in the final quarter, fending off a New York rally. However, Rose missed a crucial free throw in the final seconds, leaving the door open for the Knicks. New York went to Carmelo Anthony, who missed a three-pointer from the right wing.
Rose dished out 13 assists, while Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver had 16 points apiece.
The Knicks were led by Amare Stoudemire with 34 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony, on the other hand, had 26 points.

Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and Orlando Dwight Howard lead the voting polls for this year’s NBA All-Star Game.
Bryant and Howard will be starting in the annual game in February 26 at Orlando, Florida.
Howard will start in the middle for the Eastern All-Stars. He will be joined by Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), LeBron James, and Dwayne Wade (Miami Heat).
Apart from Bryant, the Western All-Stars will start the game with Andrew Bynum (Los Angeles Lakers), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Blake Griffin, and Chris Paul (Los Angeles Clippers).
The reserves of the game will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Paul Pierce scored 20 points on Tuesday to push the Boston Celtics past the upset-hungry Cleveland Cavaliers, 93-90.
The Celtics controlled most of the contest. However, the Cavaliers made a furious comeback in the second half. At one point, the former defending champions were up by 22 points.
Team captain Kevin Garnett scored a fade away jumper with under two minutes left to neutralize the Cleveland rally.
During their last meeting, the Celtics lost by one point care of a clutch layup by Kyrie Irving.
Garnett and Brandon Bass scored 13 points apiece to help Boston earn its fifth victory in its past five games.
For the Cavaliers, rookie sensation Kyrie Irving scored 21 points, while Anderson Varejao had 20 points and 20 boards.
