The NBA lockout continues E-mail

The NBA’s biggest stars were playing on Friday—not on the court, but inside the boardroom.

The labor negotiations for the world’s most famous basketball league will continue on Saturday and some of the NBA’s superstars will be there to participate.

Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony showed up on Friday to support the union. Owners and players are now attempting to form a collective bargaining agreement that could save the season, which is supposed to kick off in November.

Reports say that the players were ready to abandon negotiations when they were offered by the owners a 47% stake of all basketball-related income—marking an 11% decrease.

Commissioner David Stern says that if the problem isn’t resolved soon, the entire 2011-2012 season would be in jeopardy.
