Team USA wins nail biter against Spain |

Despite being underwhelming, team USA defeated group B rival Brazil 70-68 during their match last Monday in the World Championship Tournament.
Team USA, which consists of NBA players, missed lay-ups, blew fast break opportunities, and played stagnant half court offense. Their play raised concerns about their capability to bring home the gold medal.
USA was led by Kevin Durant with 27 points and 10 rebounds.
Brazil relied on Tiago Splitter with the absence of Anderson Varejao. Brazil was also shooting well from the three-point stripe at 7-for-11.
Brazil was leading during halftime, 46-43. Team USA turned it up a notch during the fourth quarter as they multiplied their efforts on the defensive end. USA held on to a two-point lead during the start of the fourth as the Brazilians ran out of gas.
Brazil’s guard Marcelo Huertas had a chance to send the game into overtime, but he missed free throws down the stretch.
With the unsatisfying win, team USA will be facing Iran and Tunisia to finish the round.
