At the end of the 2008-2009 season, one thing was clear for the Cleveland Cavaliers: Lebron James needs more help.

And the Cavs management didn’t waste a minute during the off-season to search for a formidable ally for James. An ally that definitely understands what it takes to win a championship—Shaquille O’Neal.

According to sources, “Shaq” is headed to Cleveland in exchanged for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, a second-round draft pick, and some cash.

While there has been no confirmation from both franchises, sources confirm that the deal is 90 percent done. Staff reports and news services say that the deal is just awaiting confirmation from both team owners.

O’Neal was questioned by the interviewers in his home in Orlando. The 37-year-old said, “I haven’t heard anything definite yet.”

In his last season, O’Neal averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds and appeared in his 15th All-Star game. However, his team—the Phoenix Suns—did not make the playoffs.
