Shaquille O’Neal is now a member of the Boston Celtics.
The most storied franchise in NBA history recently signed the 15-time All-Star to a two-year contract worth $2.8 million.
The 38-year-old is expected to be in Boston next week for a press conference and a physical exam.
With O’Neal, the Celtics have a replacement center for Kendrick Perkins, who is not expected to return until February next year.
“I’m excited and looking forward to playing with the big fella,” said Rajon Rondo, the starting point guard of the reigining Eastern Conference Champions. “He’s definitely an enforcer. He gives us a post presence. He’s one of the best to do it. We’re a lot better.”
Rondo continued: “Perkins is still young, but if something happens crazy again, we have another big.”
Apart from O’Neal, the Celtics also signed Jermaine O’Neal during the offseason.
