After losing two games at the Staples Center, the Orlando Magic found fused their energy and composure to take a 108-104 victory over the LA Lakers in their home court, Amway Arena.

The Magic were led by their two All-Stars, Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis, who both scored 21 points.

Orlando shot a scorching 63 percent from the field, which included a record-setting 75 percent shooting display in the first half. With the win, the team avoids a 0-3 hole and the franchise snaps a six-game finals losing streak dating back to the 1995 NBA playoffs.

Kobe Bryant, who is looking for his fourth championship trophy, led the Lakers with 31 points. But the former MVP went cold after the first half, adding just 10 points during the two quarters. Bryant missed five crucial free throws down the stretch which would’ve given his team a better chance at a win.

Game four and game five will remain in Orlando.

The Orlando Magic had a balanced attack. Rafer Alston had 20 points and Hedo Torkoglu and Mickael Pietrus each had 18 points.

“We’ve got to play like this,” Howard regarding his team’s balanced attack. “When guys are attacking we're tough to guard. We moved the ball a lot tonight. We got some good shots. We didn't rush anything.”

Howard’s counterpart, Pau Gasol, scored 23 points but was limited to just three rebounds.

The Lakers suffered from the line, missing 10 free throws that covered the spread between the teams.

The Magic, on the other hand, converted on many easy shots, as well as tough layups.

“Well, it was going in the basket. That always works,” commented Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy. “That formula's always tried and true.”
