With the NBA lock-out at hand, NBA stars have arranged a basketball tour to raise money for charity.
The group is led by LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony.
The Homecoming Tour will begin in December 1 in Akron, Ohio. The team will also play in New Orleans, Chicago, and New Jersey.
“I am so excited to have this opportunity to participate in this tour,” expressed Anthony is a press statement. “To couple two of the things I love to do -- play basketball and give back—is special. This is just the beginning of a movement to facilitate change in our communities and I am happy to be a part of a group of guys willing to lead the charge.”
Reports claim that Chris Bosh will also join the touring All-Stars. The rest of the rosters have yet to be determined, with lineups pegged to “change considerably” from city to city.
The proceeds of the four-game event will be donated to the headlining players’ charity organizations.
On the bigger scale, negotiations for the league’s union disputes seem far from happening. The NBA has cancelled the games through December 15. And no talks have been scheduled before the stated date.
