The Miami Heat has signed Mike Miller, adding another player to their sensational roster.
The team also signed a pair of centers: Joel Anthony and Dexter Pittman. Anthony has resigned with the team with a five-year deal that was estimated to cost around $18 million, while Pittman was signed from Miami’s summer league line-up.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas joined the Heat last Tuesday, and the team is also pursuing negotiations with veteran forward Juwan Howard.
However, before the team began pursuing the big men, they had to fix the deal with Miller. As recalled by team president Pat Riley: “From the first moment that we met Mike on July 1, it seemed like it would be a match made in heaven.”
Miller was a solid addition a team that needs some outside offense to complement the penetration game of Dwayne Wade and LeBron James; and the post game of Chris Bosh.
Miller shot 48 percent from beyond the arc last season, ranking second in the NBA behind Kyle Korver.
The 6-foot-8 guard-forward agreed to a five-year deal that cost around $25 million.
