Lakers fall to Heat E-mail

It took more than four quarters, but the Miami Heat found a way to neutralize the Los Angeles Lakers, coming away with a 114-111 victory.

In regulation, Kobe Bryant scored a jump shot with three seconds remaining. The shot forced overtime. The former MVP continued his onslaught on the Heat defense, scoring his team’s first six points in the extra period. He scored 39 points for the night, but he failed to make a crucial three-pointer with 13 seconds left in overtime.

After Bryant’s miss, Carlos Arroyo hit a free throw for Miami to put the team ahead 114-109, leaving six seconds on the clock.

Miami won its second consecutive game, while the defending champs ended their three-game winning streak.

The Heat were led by Dwyane Wade had 27 points. Quentin Richardson hit many three-point shots, ending up with 25 markers.
