Kobe scored 34 points last Tuesday to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the New York Knicks, 100-90.
Bryant contributed eight points in a 17-0 Laker run in the third quarter. The win marked the defending champ’s fourth consecutive win.
Ron Artest and Andrew Bynum scored 17 each and the recently reinstated Pau Gasol had 11 points and 16 rebounds.
The Knicks were led by Wilson Chandler and Nate Robinson, who had 15 points each. David Lee also had 13 points for New York.
Lee went for a dunk in the third quarter that pulled New York within seven points, but Los Angeles then jumped on a 17-0 run to end the quarter.
New York only led in the second quarter.
