Allen Iverson’s playing days with the Memphis Grizzlies will be short-lived.
Iverson and the Grizzlies have mutually agreed to cut ties with each other last Monday. And the former MVP’s next team is still undetermined. Rumors say that the Knicks will pursue him; however this has not been confirmed.
Knicks president Donnie Walsh says that the team’s interest was considered perfunctory than serious.
The rebuilding New York Knicks are 1-9 and could use Iverson to get more wins and more fans. The team is currently trying to develop several young players, an effort that could be sidetracked by the presence of Iverson.
Iverson just played three games after starting the season injured. He averaged 12.3 points in 22.3 minutes and refused to accept his role as a reserve.
He then left the team for reason that the organization has described as personal.
