The Lakers were trailing by six points entering the final period. Everybody was expecting the Lakers to make a late-night comeback, as they always do, but it did not happen. The Clippers outscored the Lakers in the last 12 minutes, 23-18.

Chris Kaman had a solid game with 21 points, Eric Gordon had 18, and Rasual Butler had 14 points.

Kobe Bryant had a sensational game as he scored 33 points. The Lakers shot an awful 38 percent from the field.
