Edwards suspended by NASCAR E-mail

Carl Edwards was placed on NASCAR’s probation list last Tuesday for intentionally wrecking the car of Brad Keselowski.

NASCAR said that Edwards was not suspended or docked standings’ points for the disciplinary action.

“We made it very clear to [Edwards] that these actions were not acceptable and did go beyond what we said back in January about putting the driving back in the hands of the drivers,” said NASCAR president Mike Helton. “I believe [Edwards] understands our position at this point.”

Edwards hit the rear of Keselowski while racing down the front stretch of the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The hit caused Keselowski’s car to go airborne, and land upside down. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
