Jordan Zimmerman delivered well on six consecutive innings last Monday to lead the Washington Nationals past the Atlanta Braves 3-2.
Zimmerman performed wonderfully in his first major league start with two runs on six hits and three strikeouts and one walk.
After the game was delayed due to unfriendly weather, the Nationals went down to business. The team worked hard to notch their second win in the season against 11 losses. Jesus Flores had two RBI and Elijah Dukes had a couple of hits and one run for Washington. Joel Hanrahan had the first save for the Nationals.
On the other hand, Atlanta was led by Matt Diaz, who had a two-run fourth-inning home run. Derek Lowe went for six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits.
