Scott Podsednik scored a three-run homer in the seventh inning last Thursday as the Kansas City Royals won over the Houston Astros, 5-2.

The Astros had a solid start with two in the first. But they could not sustain the effort as they managed to score only four more hits for the rest of the game.

The Royals were trailing 2-0 heading into the seventh inning and the first two batters were eventually retired by Brett Myers.

Kansas rallied strong behind singles from Mike Aviles, Wilson Betemit, and Yuniesky Betancourt. After that, Podsednik hit a 2-2 pitch over the wall.

The Royals have now won three of their last four outings.
