Adrian Gonzalez topped a five-run fourth with a two-run homer last Friday as the San Diego Padres defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 12-1.

Arizona held a 1-0 lead through three innings before the Padres made a 14-hit run to notch its second straight win. They are now three games in front of second-place Colorado on the National League West.

Gonzalez put San Diego in front for good with a homer off Dan Haren. Chase Headley double, moving to third on a single by Nick Hundley and scored on Aaron Cunningham’s sacrifice fly.

A walk to Tony Gwynn and an infield single by Jon Garland loaded the bases as Jerry Hairston produced the fourth and fifth runs of the inning with single.  
Headley added a solo homer in the fifth and Scott Hairston drove two more in the seventh inning with a double.
