Howie Kendrick homered two to carry the Los Angeles Angels over the Oakland Athletics, 6-3.

The Angels had nine hits with two coming from Kendrick and Maicer Izturis.

Los Angeles had two double plays to earn the win, which kept them three games behind Texas in the American League West. On the other hand, the A’s were handed their third loss in thirteen games.

Hisanori Takahashi went for 1 2/3 innings to get the win in relief of Jerome Williams, who only allowed three runs and seven hits through a little over four innings.

For Oakland, Josh Willingham scored two runs, while Jemile Weeks doubled to get the A’s other run.
