John Danks pitches shutout as White Sox defeat Mariners |

John Danks pitched a shutout for more than seven innings on Tuesday as the Chicago White Sox blanked the Seattle Mariners, 4-0.
Danks struck out eight batters and allowed only two hits and four walks to lead the White Sox to their 11th win in their last 14 games.
Alex Ramirez also helped Chicago by going 3-for-4 and giving a home run. Omar Vizquel, Alex Rios, and Paul Konerko each had two hits.
Doug Fister accepted the loss, giving up tree runs on seven hits through the span of six innings. He managed to strike out six, while giving up one walk.
Chicago took a 1-0 lead during the fourth inning behind a walk from Rios followed by a double by Konerko. Rios came home with a groundout by Mark Kotsay.
The White Sox added to the lead during the fifth behind an RBI double care of Juan Pierre followed by consecutive singles by Rios and Vizquel, resulting in a 3-0 lead.
Ramirez closed out the scoring with a home run, his ninth of the season.
