Rafael Furcal is officially staying with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The short stop standout reached a preliminary agreement to a three-year contract with the franchise, last Wednesday.
Sources close to the deal say that Furcal’s contract amounts to $30 million—which is the same amount that Furcal nearly signed with his former team: the Atlanta Braves.
Furcal will receive $6.5 million for the first year, $8.5 million for the second, $12 million for the third, and he will receive a $3 million at the end of the contract. He has a vesting option for a fourth year if he makes around 600 plate appearances in the third year of the contract.
