Interim Oakland Athletics Manager Bob Melvin has been offered a full-time job by the team.
Reports say that Melvin signed a three-year deal with A’s as the team’s manager. He replaced Bob Geren last June and has led the team to a 42-49 record ever since.
In his eight seasons, Melvin has compiled a 535-557 record as a manager for Oakland, Seattle Mariners, and Arizona Diamondbacks.
The 49-year-old steered the Diamondbacks to the National League West title in 2007, after which he was named NL Manager of the Year.
