Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods said that he has accepted an apology from Steve Williams, his ex-caddie, for making a racist remark about him.

Talking to reporters in Sydney, Woods said that he was “hurt” by the incident. However, the two have move passed it ever since the apology.

“Steve is certainly not a racist,” Woods said. “There's no doubt about that. It was a comment that shouldn't have been made. It was one that he wished he didn't make.”

According to reports, Williams addressed his former boss with a racial slur in an event in China last week.

“He did apologize,” Woods told reporters. “It was hurtful certainly. But life goes forward.”
