Tiger Woods claimed his first title after recovering from a knee surgery as he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
The world number one putted in a long birdie to edge-out long-time leader Sean O’Hair to claim the PGA Tour event.
“It feels good,” Woods told the Press Association. “It feels good to be back in contention and feel the rush. It's been a while.”
While American Zach Johnson finished third, the match was effectively a two-man race between Woods and O’Hair.
Tiger dropped a shot at fourth but recovered with a birdie on the seventh, which put him back on track with O’Hair, who lost shots to par in the process.
Woods trailed a shot in the 14th and was left with no choice but to make an extremely difficult downhill putt to salvage his par. He followed this up with a long-range putt in the 15th hole.
With the win, Woods builds momentum as he heads to the US Masters at Augusta next week. Tiger is slowly catching up to Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 wins in major championships.
