Argentina’s Angel Cabrera won a three-way playoff last Sunday to capture his first Masters against Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell.

With the victory, Cabrera becomes the first South American to capture one of golf’s most prestigious trophies.

Cabrera, Perry, and Campbell all finished with 72 holes on 12-under par 276 that resulted in the eighth sudden-death playoff in PGA Masters history.

Perry was actually ahead of the three as they entered the 18th hole, but he bogeyed the course which put him at a stand still with Cabrera and Campbell. The 48-year-old would’ve become the oldest major champion in golf history.

It marked the first Masters playoff since the Woods-DiMarco showdown in 2005 and it was also the first three-man playoff since 1987, when Larry chipped in a shot to defeat Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros was eliminated at the first hole.

World number one Tiger Woods finished in a four-way tie at sixth place after recording an eight-under par performance.
